Today is my 19th birthday, and May 26 its like the BEST date for me!
Hoje faço 19 anos, e desde sempre que 26 de maio é a melhor data para mim!
So much has happened on the previous year, ever since I became 18, and I'd like to report it.
Actually, that feeling that you're going to be 18 and that you can do anything you want on Earth its a lie, because its a momentum feeling, and you are the same person, but with some benefits and some things that you're not allowed to do anymore.
Aconteceu imensa coisa no último ano desde que fiz 18 anos, I gostaria de escrever sobre isso. Na verdade, aquela sensação de que logo que se faz 18 anos pode-se fazer qualquer coisa é mentira, porque isso é só um sentimento do momento, mas continua-se a mesma pessoa, mas com algumas vantagens e desvantagens.
Maybe people have that idea that turning 18 is a big deal because you now MUST follow the laws and are old enough to do some things, for instance you're old enough to drive, which is great, but having to deal with all the papers and bureaucracies you need to START driving school is very stressful. You're old enough to vote, which means, staying on a long queue for HOURS just to make one or two tiny crosses, or just risk the paper.
But turning old its just another causality of life. So, I decided to count somethings that happened to me on the previous year.
Contudo, envelhecer é algo completamente norma, por isso contei algumas coisas que achei excitantes que aconteceram no último ano.
1- I voted for the first time. It was STRESSFUL! Stayed on a queue for quite some time, and got to the door and that wasn't my room to vote it was another one, and after talking with someone, I finally voted!
1 - Pela primeira vez votei. Foi ESGOTANTE! Fiquei uma data de tempo numa fila e quando cheguei à porta da sala disseram-me que não era ali a minha sala e que era outra, só depois de falar com alguém é que consegui efetuar o meu dever e direito de cidadã.
2- I finally started driving school, but taking care of the documentation that you need to start the school its so stressful that you actually want to give up just before starting, but its being a really nice experience and I am already imagining myself driving in a few weeks, or a month, who knows.
2 - Finalmente comecei a ter aulas de condução, mas só o tratar das burocracias e documentos para tal, dá vontade de desistir ainda antes de começar. Mas estou a gostar imenso e já me imagino a conduzir, e quem sabe dentro de semanas ou um mês.
3 - I had my first surgeries and my first teeth extraction, due to my WISDOM teeth, that din't had space on my mouth, so I had to get them removed, and had 2 surgeries to do that, but now, my mouth is perfect :D
3 - Fui operada pela primeira vez e tirei dentes pela primeira vez, por causa dos meus lindos dentes do JUÍZO que não tinham espaço na minha boca e tive que tira-los, e para isso foram necessárias 2 cirurgias, mas agora já está tudo perfeitinho.
4 - I went to Barcelooooona! Lies, I actually spent part of a day in Barcelona on my way to visit someone, needless to say that I used the time there to shop.4- Fui à Barcelona! Na verdade na verdade, passei parte de um dia em Barcelona à caminho de Saragoça para visitar uma amiga, e aproveitei para umas comprinhas.
5- I actually did something I didn't thought I'd actually do it, even though I really wanted to, I visit a GREAT friend that I meet during Summer 2012 in Shanghai! It was really nice..jpg)
6 - The best of it, I created a blog! I had the idea for quite some time. I first decided to create an YouTube page where I'd publish Make Up tutorials, but well, with my lack of editing skills that idea didn't go so well, so I decided to create THIS blog, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! I am really loving doing this, and I am actually using the blog to share some of my skills and practice my writing, so the usual viewers actually noticed that my writing skills have improved, so I am really happy about it :)
6- A melhor coisa foi que criei este blog! Já tinha essa ideia há muito tempo. Inicialmente a minha ideia era criar uma página no YouTube onde iria publica tutoriais de maquilhagem, mas a minha falta de capacidades em relação a editar videos, então decidi criar ESTE blog, e não podia estar mais feliz com a minha escolha. Realmente estou a gostar imenso de ter este blog para partilhar as minhas capacidades e aproveito para melhorar as minhas habilidades na escrita, e acho que os meus visitantes regulares devem ter notado que a minha escrita melhorou, por isso estou mesmo contente com isto.
7 - For the first time, I had macarons! Such a sweet and delicate french treat. Wonderful, I actually posted the recipe here in the blog. I do recommend them.
7- Pela primeira vez comi macarons! Está iguaria francesa é bastante deliciosa e delicada. Perfeitos, por acaso publiquei sobre eles aqui no blog. Recomendo-os.
8- Aconteceu-me a pior coisa, reprovei no meu último ano de escola, mas para que conste, reprovei num exame, então tenho que repetir a disciplina, que por acaso no inicio achei que tivesse sido péssimo, mas com o tempo as coisas melhoraram. Aprendi taaantas coisas novas que me passarão ao lado no ano passado, e aproveitei o tempo que tenho para melhorar um outra nota. E acima de tudo, acho que foi melhor assim, porque não consigo imaginar quão má teria sido na universidade com a mentalidade que tinha há um ano atrás, e além disso, sinto que não estava tão preparada para ir sair de casa, viver fora e estudar fora como estou agora, e acima de tudo, esta situação ajudou-me a por a cabeça no lugar e repensar as minhas ideias e decisões e decidir o que é o melhor para o meu futuro. E também pude conhecer de forma diferente pessoas que já conhecia e também conhecer pessoas novas.
9 - I also learned how to overcome my problems, for instance I had a few fights with some mates and I learned how to get over with it and thanks to that I actually created new friends that now mean everything, and I couldn't be happier with them in my life now.
9 - Aprendi a superar os meus problemas, por exemplo tive algumas divergências com pessoas e aprendi a superar isso de forma que consegui criar relações fortes com as mesmas pessoas, e realmente não me imagino sem elas.
10 - I started reading more books, again! Ever since I was a kid I loved reading, and then in the begging of my teen years I kinda stopped
reading out of the blue, and now I am reading again and really nice and different kinds of books, so that's really nice to me.
10 - Comecei a ler mais, de novo! Desde que era pequena que adoro ler, e no inicio da minha adolescência parei. E agora voltei a ler de novo e tem sido bom, tenho lido coisas diferentes das que estava habituada.
11 - I don't know if its because I failed last year, but I started studying so much more, its incredible, I mean, now I can spend the whole morning on the school library studying. That's really nice because I developed studying methods that will help me on the next few years.
11- Não sei se é por ter reprovado no ano passado, mas comecei a estudar mais, é incrivel, quer dizer, agora sou capaz de passar uma manhã inteira na biblioteca da escola a estudar. Isso é ótimo porque consegui desenvolver hábitos de estudo que me vão ajudar nos próximos anos.
12 - This is stupid, but I actually started to file my nails in square. I never did it, I'd always have them squoaval. I didn't liked having them any other way, until the day I decided to change for a few weeks to see how it would look like, it has been 9 months like this.12 - Este é estúpido, mas comecei a limar as minhas unhas de forma quadrada. Nunca tinha feito isso antes, sempre as tinhas ovais. Não gostava de as ter de outra forma até que um dia decidi mudar um bocado as coisas por umas semanas, e já lá vão 9 meses.
13 - I went to Porto for the first time. I have been in Portugal a few times, but never went up there, I mean, there was a time that I passed from the train station to the highway, so that doesn't count. This year, I went up there to visit a friend and we had a great time. Not only I visited the city, I also met the city at night and made macarons and tried them for the first time, so those 2 days were really nice and enjoyed to the fullest.13- Pela primeira vez fui ao Porto. Já estive em Portugal várias vezes e nunca tinha ido lá acima, quer dizer houve uma vez que fui da estação de comboio até à auto-estrada, e isso não conta. Este ano fui lá visitar uma amiga minha, e divertimos-nos imenso. Não só deu para ver um bocado da cidade, como também conheci a noite de lá e fizemos macarons, então esses 2 dias foram bastante aproveitados.
14 - Went to the best concert EVER! I saw Richie Campbell alive and it was great! I am still hungover on the fact that he's AMAZING! I still don't have words to describe the concert. It was marvelous. His songs, the way he interacted with the audience, my company. I loved it.
14- Fui ao melhor concerto de SEMPRE! Fui ver o Richie Campbell e foi maravilhoso. Ainda estou na ressaca de quão incrível foi, e continuo sem palavras para descrever o concerto. Foi fantástico, as músicas,a interação dele com a audiência, a companhia que tinha. Simplesmente adorei.
15 - After YEARS I took a picture with Santa, seating on his lap like a little child. In fact, I think it was the first time I did it. You know those things you do because you're influenced by your friends.15 - Depois de ANOS tirei uma foto com o Pai Natal, e até me sentei no colo dele como uma criança pequena. Na verdade, chego de acreditar que foi a primeira vez que fiz isso. Uma daquelas coisas que acontece quando estamos com amigos.
16 - One of the things I did the most is overload someones car! And the best part of it, I'd always seat in the front, so I wouldn't suffer in the back.
16- Outra das coisas que fiz, foi encher os carros de amigos meus! E a pior parte é que eu vou sempre a frente assim não sofro no banco de trás.
17 - I went to a Fashion Show. It wasn't my first, but it was really amazing. One of Portugal best models was there and I saw her walking the catwalk for 2 minutes, I mean, she received a stand ovation, and she was on the catwalk for 2 minutes. The part that makes me the most surprised, is that there was a designer that his collection presentation only took 2 minutes, so that was surprising to me. And it has been my dream since ever to see her alive, so it was amazing seeing here there.
17 - Fui à um desfile de moda. Não foi a primeira vez que fui, mas não deixou de ser fantástico. Uma das melhores atrizes e modelos portuguesas desfilou, e ao fechar um desfile, desfilou por dois minutos, quer dizer, recebeu uma ovação em pé e ficou esse tempo todo na passarele. A coisa que mais me surpreende é o facto de que houve uma coleção em que o desfile todo durou 2 minutos, e ela apresentou o vestido com que desfilou por 2 minutos. Sempre a quis ver ao vivo, por isso foi algo fantástico vê-la.
18 - I went to a Casino for the first time, didn't thought it was something out of this world, and I didn't like it that much.18 - Pela primeira vez fui à um Casino, não achei que fosse algo extraordinário e não gostei muito.
Bonus : aaaaaaaaaaaaaand, I took a huge amount of selfies.
Bonuuuuus : Tirei um número incrível de selfies.
Last, but not least, I feel that I grew a lot on the previous year. I did change a lot in just 365 days, and that proves that we're constantly changing, and that change is good. There're a few things that I wouldn't be able to do it I haven't grew this much. I feel much mature and actually ready to enjoy what the future has for me. And this includes starting my higher education and working.
Por último, acho que neste último ano da minha vida cresci imenso. De certa forma, nestes últimos 365 anos mudei bastante, o que prova que o ser humano está sempre em mudança eu que isso é positivo. Há imensas coisas que eu não seria capaz de fazer se não tivesse crescido assim. Sinto-me mais matura e que estou verdadeiramente pronta para enfrentar o que o futuro tem para mim. O que inclui a minha educação e o trabalho.
I do believe that I wouldn't be the same without the mates I have to help me through the worst moments of my life, or to enjoy with them the best moments I had on the previous year. Despite the fact that I am not easy to deal with , they did a very good job by being my friends. No matter how distance they are, they're still close in heart.Acredito também que eu não teria sido a mesma sem a companhia dos meus amigos, para me ajudarem nos piores momentos e também para desfrutarem comigo os bons momentos que passei no último ano. Apesar de eu não ser uma pessoa fácil de lidar, fizeram um ótimo trabalho sendo meus amigos. E independentemente da distância que há entre nós, continuam próximos.
I shall say THANK YOU to everyone that wished me a Happy Birthday. It was very lovely day, with my 'SURPRISE' party included.
