Purple Cat eyes & Eyeliners

Due to my the free time I have in hands right now, I decided to bring here an innovation of the classic Cat Eyes, that is not very different than the original. Except that on there's purple on the bottom lid and a black line, giving it a special touch.

Graças a minha pequena vaga de tempo, trago uma inovação para o blog do clássico  Cat Eyes, que não tem muita diferença sem ser o facto de na pálpebra inferior ter um traçado pelo  eyeliner  e pela sombra roxa, dando um toque especial ao cat eye.

This make up became quite popular during the 50's. However, this look came back! It has this specific name because the outer corners of the eyes are designed to look pointed, like a cat's. The Cat Eyes is great for a glamorous and sensual look. Its relatively simple to do, it just needs practice, and I can say that from my own experience.

Esta maquilhagem tornou-se bastante popular nos anos 50. Contudo, mais recentemente esta pintura voltou em grande peso. Tem este nome, pois os cantos externos dos olhos são pintados de forma pontiaguda, o que lembra um gato. É ligeiramente dramática e para melhores resultados deve-se usar um bom eyeliner.

Muitos acham esta maquilhagem perfeita para eventos noturnos, já outros acham-na apropriada para o dia também. Por ser algo um bocado dificil de se fazer, digo por experiencia própria que só a prática leva a perfeição.

Before I start with the tutorial, I'd like to give a brief introduction about eyeliner. Usually people ask me quite often about it, asking me about how do I achieve this look, or which kind of liner I wear and so much .

Antes de começar com o tutorial, gostaria de falar sobre o  eyeliner. Algo que é me muitas vezes perguntado. Variando desde como é que pinto os olhos dessa forma, que tipo de, dilineador uso, como é que faço. 

Starting from saying that my favorite kind is the liquid! I get better results and better mobility when I work with this product. I really like the result and the look. I don't wear khol that much because it smudges it has to be always sharp so it can draw thin and sharp lines, so I rarely wear it, and when I do, I do wear it on the water line to give more volume to my lashes or give the illusion of a smaller eye. I like the gel formula for colorful shades. Every now and then its always nice to give some color to your life and face, and in those situations, green, purple and even blue suite perfectly. Even though I rarely wear this formula, sometimes I wear it in black for a everyday use. And to apply it, you need to dip it with an angular brush.

Desde já dizer que o  eyeliner que uso é o liquido, o meu preferido e confiado! Tenho melhores resultados e mobilidade a trabalhar com este produto. Gosto imenso do resultado e do aspeto. Não uso muito o lápis, pois borra com facilidade e tem que estar sempre afiado no ponto para poder traçar linhas finas que depois vou engrossando, então raramente uso o lápis para os olhos, e quando uso, é na linha d'água dos olhos, para dar uma sensação de mais volume nas pestanas superiores  ou para dar uma ilusão de um olho mais pequeno. O eyeliner em gel prefiro para fórmulas coloridas. De vez em quando sabe bem alegrar a cara com cores poucos usuais, como o azul, verde ou até o roxo. Apesar de raramente usa-lo em gel, de vez em quando uso o preto para o dia-a-dia. E para aplica-lo uso um pincel angular.

There's a huge variety of eyeliners :

* Liquid : That's known for being hard to use it. To achieve better results, a steady hand is  MUST!, besides, its recommended that you do short strokes, and that you start from the middle of the eye, and then continue to the outer corner and after that to the inner corner, and to thick the line keep on passing the product on top of the line.

Pros : -  Perfect for  Cat Eyes, Arabian make up, more dramatic looks;

- Its perfect to achieve a thin, well defined line, and gives an illusion of a thicker and more voluminous lashes;
- To the ones that can work with it, its the more pratical;
- It rarely smudges and its easy to come out when removing the make up.

Cons : - Its hard to work with it;
- Its necessary to have a firm hand;
- Its not always recommended to the water line.

 Há vários tipos de  eyeliners:

* Liquido : que para muitos é considerado bastante difícil de manusear. Para se conseguir melhores resultados, ter uma mão bastante firme é mais que necessário e além disso, recomenda-se que faça-se movimentos curtos; e que se comece pelo meio do olho, e depois continua-se para o canto externo e só depois para o canto interno, e para engrossar a linha passe o produto em cima da linha que já tinha.

Vantagens - Perfeita para maquilhagens árabes, cat eyes, looks mais dramáticos;

- Dá uma linha bastante definida e fina, que dá uma sensação de pestanas mais grossas e volumosas;
- Para quem consegue manusear, é a mais prática;
- Raramente borra e saí com bastante facilidade ao desmaquilhar.

Desvantagens - Custa um bocado para usar;

- É necessário ter uma mão firme;
- Nem sempre é viável para a linha d'água.

* Gel/Cream :  usually used by professional make up artist, and recently became more popular among other make up users. Cream eyeliners generally come in a pot that you can dip an angle brush with a fine tip brush. It can also be used as a creamy base underneath eye-shadows. You'll need a brush to apply this type of product and a slightly steady hand,  because its creamy and so it can glide easily. Because this liner takes a bit longer to try, its great for smudging along the lash line.

Pros : - Very creamy;
- Because it takes some time to dry, its perfect for smudge, so you can create a smokey eye.

Cons : - It smudges;
- Not as portable as an liquid liner or a pencil one.

* Gel : geralmente o mais usado por maquilhadores profissionais, e recentemente começou a popularizar-se por todos usuários de maquilhagem. Muitas vezes vem em frascos pequenos, e para se usar, usa-se um píncel angular com a ponta fina, que se passa no produto. Além de se usar nas pálpebras também pode ser adaptado como uma sombra cremosa que serve de base para as sombras em pó.

Para o seu melhor uso, também é necessário ter-se uma mão bastante estável.

Vantagens : - Por demorar a secar é perfeita para esfumar nos olhos para conseguir fazer um smokey eye;
- É bastante cremosa

Desavantagens : - Borra imenso;

-Não é tão prático para transportar como o lápis ou o eyeliner liquido.

Pencil/Khol Eyeliner : This one is the most used as it is very easy to control and manage it. To apply it, you just need to draw a line on top the your lashline. It works like a normal pencil. To apply on the water line this is the most appropriate. Always check if it is ophthalmologist tested, in order to prevent any irritation. However, I personally think, that just like gel, it smudges.
Pros : - Easy to work with it;
- It has a wide range of colors;
- Very common, most brands have it;
- Perfect for the water line.

Cons : - It needs to be sharp all the time, otherwise the line wont be thin and sharp;
 - I think it smudges.

* Lápis : É o mais usado por qualquer mulher e é muito mais fácil de controlar. Para se pôr, é só passa-lo no olho e desenhar uma linha por cima da linha das pestanas. Funciona com um lápis normal. Para se passar na linha d'água este é o melhor tipo. Verifique sempre se são oftamologicamente testados para os olhos, para previnir irratações nos olhos.Contudo, acho eu, que tal como o gel borra. 

Vantagens : - Fácil de manusear;
- Tem uma vasta gama de cores;
- Bastante comum, por isso é fácil de encontrar quase todas as marcas tem;
- Perfeita para a linha d'água.

Desvantagens : - Tem que estar sempre afiado, senão a linha nem sempre é tão bonita;

- Acho eu que borra imenso.

Eye shadow as liner : Is the easiest and fastest way to apply. You just need an angular brush. To apply it, dip the brush into the shadow and '' draw '' or smudge it on your upper lid and on the lash line of your bottom lid. Its not suitable for the water line because it wont stick well and it might cause irritations. This trick is more recommended for day time because its more discreet than the other formulas, and it also has a wide range of colors.

Pros : -Infinite colors;
-Easy to work with it;
- Suitable for day time.

Cons : - Not suitable for day time.
- Doesn't last longer like the other liners.

Sombra dos olhos: Que é a forma mais rápida e simples de usar. Só é necessário um píncel angular. Para usar, passe pela sombra e desenhe ou borre a sua pálpebra ou a sua linha de pestanas inferiores. Não é recomendado para a linha d'água, pois causa bastantes irritações. Este truque é mais aconselhado para o dia-a-dia e é mais discreto do que as outras fórmulas e além disso, tem uma gama extensa de cores.

Vantagens : - Cores infinitas;

-Fácil de usar;
- Melhor para o dia-a-dia.
Desvantagens : - Não pode ser usado na linha d'água;
- Não dura tanto como os outros eyeliners. 

By far the best eyeliner I ever worn, is the Sephora, Long Lasting Eyeliner. I really love the result, it rarely smudges, has a great pigmentation,like I mentioned before here & here. After all, it was one of my favorite products two months in a row, March and April. Another one that I really like is the  Liquid EyeLiner from  The Body Shop. Its as good as the Sephora one.

De longe o melhor eyeliner  que já usei é o da Sephora, Long Lasting Eyeliner. Adoro o resultado, raramente borro, tem uma pigmentação fantástica,como já tinha mencionado aqui e aqui. Afinal de contas, não é a toa que foram uns dos meus produtos favoritos dos meses de março e abril. Outro que gosto bastante é o Liquid EyeLiner da  The Body Shop. É tão bom quanto o da Sephora.

Well, after a '' brief '' explanation about eyeliners and etc. I need to go to the tutorial.

Bom, agora que fiz uma '' breve '' explicação sobre  eyeliners e afins, tenho que passar para o tutorial.

1. Apply  primer on your lids.

1. Passe  primer nas suas pálpebras. 

2. To give a better definition of your eyes, apply a gold shadow or skin color shadow on your lid - I used Half Baked - Naked 2, Urban Decay.

2. E par dar melhor definição aos seus olhos, passe uma sombra dourada ou do seu tom de pele pela sua pálpebra móvel- eu usei Half Baked - Naked 2, Urban Decay.

3. Apply a darker shade on your crease to give more depth to your eyes - I used Snakebite.

3. De seguida, no côncavo use um tom mais escuro para dar profundidade aos seus olhos - usei SnakeBite.

4. To make things easier, stick 2 pieces of tape on the outer corner of the eyes towards the brows, and if you need, put your elbow on a table, with short strokes, start drawing a line from the middle of your lid to the outer corner and keep your line close to the tape. After this, if you wish, keep the line to the inner corner of the eye.

4. Depois para facilitar, cole dois bocados de fita cola nos cantos externos dos olhos em direção às sobrancelhas e se precisar apoie o seu cotovelo numa mesa, e em movimentos curtos, comece pelo meio da sua pálpebra e comece a traçar uma linha fina até aos cantos externos e continue o seu traço bastante rente à fita cola. Após isto, se quiser, continue o seu traçado para o canto interno do olho.

5. With a pencil eyeliner draw a thin line on the water line, and then with an eyeliner draw a line on the bottom lash line.

5. Comece por traçar com lápis preto na linha d'água e depois,com um  eyeliner passe na linha das pestanas.

6. After this, put purple eye shadow on the under the lash line.

6. Dado isto, com uma sombra roxa, passe por baixo do traçado da linha das pestanas.

7. Apply a generous coat of mascara or fake lashes.

7. Para finalizar, passe uma boa camada de rímel ou ponha pestanas falsas.

As you can see, its easy to be made and its still super fancy and sensual.

Como pode ver, é bastante simples de ser feito e continua a ser super elegante e sensual.

Naked 3

Finalmente falo sobre a Naked 3!! A nova palete da Urban Decay e da linha Naked.

Finally I post about Naked 3!! The new palette from Urban Decay and the Naked line.

Tenho que dizer desde já que as cores são excepcionais. Há algumas cores Mate, Brilhantes, Acetinadas e cores frias e quentes. Esta palete é conhecida pelas suas cores em tons de rosa, vem também com 4 primers da Urban Decay (  Sin, Original, Eden e Anti-aging ) e um pincel de 2 pontas. Um dos lados para aplicar as sombras e o outro para esfumar.

Needless to say that the colors are amazing. Some are Matte, Glittery, Satin and they are divided by warm and cool tones. This palette is known for the pinkish colors. It cames with 4 primers from Urban Decay ( Sin, Original, Eden & Anti-aging ) and a double end brush. One side to apply the shadows and the other to smoke it.

 A embalagem é como a da Naked 2. Mesmo material e mesma forma de fecho, difere na cor e na ondulação que tem na parte de cima.

The package is like Naked 2. The same type of box and the same way to close it, the difference is on the color and the waves on top.

Apesar de ter tons rosados e brilhantes tenho que dizer que gostei imenso das cores e como elas ficam na pele. Normalmente não usaria para o dia a dia, pois prefiro tons mais mate e da cor da pele, mas estas, era capaz de as usar todos dias para todo lado.

Também há que dizer que esta palete é perfeita para a primavera que se está a aproximar no Hemisfério Norte.

Despite the pinkish and sparkly colors I need to say that I really liked the colors and the way they look on the skin. Normally, I wouldn't use them for a daily life, because I prefer matte colors and skin color shades, but I with this palette I could wear them everyday.

And this palette its perfect for the Spring that is coming very soon on the Northern Hemisphere.









Aproveito também para fazer um tutorial com esta palete, que acho perfeita para usar-se numa saída a noite, num jantar mais requintado, baile de finalistas, enfim, qualquer evento que nos faça ficar-mos super catitas.

I am also presenting a tutorial with this palette that I think its perfect to wear on a night out, a fancy dinner, prom, anything that makes us look even prettier.


Então, para esta maquilhagem, começa-se por passar a sombra ' Strange ' pela canto interior dos olhos e depois 'Dust' pela pálpebra móvel inteira. De seguida passe 'Trick' pelo centro das pálpebras até ao fim. Nos cantos dos olhos ponha 'Blackheart'. No côncavo dos olhos ponha 'Factory' e na linha de água dos olhos, para finalizar, passe 'Mugshot'.De seguida passe o eye liner como quiser no seu olho, eu preferi fazer 'Cat Eyes' ( tenha mais ideias  aqui ) e de seguida passe uma boa camada generosa de rimel, ou então pestanas falsas. Não é muito complicado de ser feito e até é rápido.

So, for this make up, you start by applying 'Strange' on the inner corner of the eyes and then 'Dust' on the lid. After that put 'Trick' on the center lid. On the mid crease put 'Blackheart'. On the crease apply 'Factory' and on the waterline appy 'Mugshot'. After all of that, put eye liner, they way you want, I choose to do Cat Eyes ( get more ideas here ) and then, put a generous amount of mascara, or fake lashes. Its not complicated at all to be done and its very fast.



Lembre-se também que ao usar uma sombra clara e cintilante no canto interior dos olhos ilumina os olhos e dá um aspecto mais vivo e claro aos olhos em si.

Remember that when you wear a light and sparkly eye shadow on the inner corner of the eyes it makes them pop and make them look more bright.

Bom, com isto concluo a minha pequena apresentação sobre a Naked 3, que realmente aconselho a comprar. Digo que agora o meu kit de maquilhagem está completo com esta palete perfeita para qualquer momento do dia, com cores fantásticas e com uma boa pigmentação. Estas cores são perfeitas para peles morenas pois combina lindamente com a cor da pele e também é um aliado dos olhos castanhos.

Well, now I conclude my small presentation on Naked 3, that  I strongly advice for you to buy it. I can say now that my make up kit its now complete with this perfect palette for any time of the day, with amazing colors and great pigmentation. These colors are perfect for olive skin because it matches perfectly the skin color and it works wonderfully with brown eyes.

No âmbito da criação deste blog, decidi começar a usar sombras coloridas e a fazer experiências, para variar um bocado dos meus comuns esfumados com tons de castanhos e os meus cat eyes; creio eu que já tinha mencionado isso no Ouro sobre azul. 


Due to the creation of this blog, I decided to use colorful eye shadows and make more experiments with them, just to change my usual browns and cat eyes, I think I have mentioned that before hereOuro sobre azul - Gold and blue eye.


Ontem, aproveitei o dia para criar posts para o blog, e decidi experimentar esta maquilhagem super colorida ao meu gosto. Seria perfeita para festas a noite, casamentos e talvez uma gala. Combinando uma das sombras com o vestido, de preferência o roxo ou o laranja.


Yesterday I used the day to create blog posts, and decided to try this super colorful make up look. It would be perfect for a party at night, weddings and even a gala. Matching one of the shadows with the dress, either purple or orange.


Achei simples de fazer ( como sempre acho ), gostei imenso do resultado, na minha opinião, a única coisa que dispensaria, seria o prolongamento do eye liner. 


Like usual, I thought it was easy to do, I really fancied the result, and on my opinion, the only thing I could skip, would be the eye liner following the eye shadow.

Sera necessário :
- Corrector de olheiras
-Primer para os olhos
-Sombras - Laranja, Vermelho, Roxo ( Palete de 96 cores )
-Eye Liner
-Lapis preto
-Rimel    You will need :
-Concealer
-Eye shadow primer
-Eye shadow - orange, red, purple ( 96 Colors pallet )
-Eye liner
-Black Kohl
-Mascara

 

Primeiro - Como sempre, limpar a pele, por o corrector para corrigir as olheiras, se necessário dar um jeito as sobrancelhas e por primer - aprenda a fazer.

First : Clean the skin, apply concealer, and if necessary fix your eyebrows and put on primer - learn here.

Segundo - Comece por por uma sombra branca no canto interior dos olhos. De seguida ponha a sombra laranja desde o inicio da pálpebra ate metade.

Second : Start applying a white eye shadow on the inner corner of the eyes, then, put the orange shadow from the begging of the eye lid until half of it.

Terceiro : Ponha uma sombra avermelhada no meio da pálpebra e misture um bocado com a sombra laranja.

Third : Put a reddish eye shadow on the middle, and blend it a bit with the orange eye shadow.

Quarto :  Ponha a sombra roxa no canto externo dos olhos, e prolongue um bocado como se estivesse a a fazer cat eyes. Se quiser, só para escurecer um bocado, misture o roxo com preto.

Fourth : Put the purple eye shadow on the outer corner, and extend it like you were going to do cat eyes. If you want, just to make it darker, blend the purple with black.

Quinto : Passe eye liner na pálpebra, e se quiser, prolongue com a sombra roxa.

Fifth : Put eye liner all over the eye lid, and if you want, extend it along the purple shadow.

Sexto : Passe a sombra roxa perto da linha d'agua dos olhos, e ponha lápis preto.


Sixth : Put the purple eye shadow close to the water line and apply black kohl.

Sétimo : Como sempre, ponha uma boa camada generosa de rimel, em cima e em baixo.


Seventh : Like usual, put a very generous amount of mascara - on top and bottom lashes.


Ponha um batom claro ou nude para acompanhar esta maquilhagem. Use um blush que complemente a sua tez.


Wear this eye look with a light or nude lipstick. Also wear a blush that will complement your skin tone.

Ouro Sobre Azul

Geralmente quando me maquilho, faço algo relativamente simples mas que não deixe de chamar atenção, que 'e o caso de eye-liner e as megas pestanas com que ando geralmente. E para certos eventos mais requintados e se não tenho preguiça de me maquilhar, costumo fazer uma mistura de sombras em tons de castanho.

Usually when I do my make-up, I make something simple but, yet it catches every bodies eyes. Which is the case of  my eye lined eyes and my super long and voluminous lashes that I normally do. And for some fancy events, if I am not too lazy to do my make-up, I do some kind of smokey eyes with brown shades.

No geral, raramente uso sombras coloridas - como azul, rosa, verde, amarelo, laranja, etc. Mas desde que comecei com o blog decidi começar a experimentar e tenho que dizer que há algumas coisas de que gosto e que ate era capaz de ir assim a certos eventos.

Normally I don't wear bright colors eye shadows - such as blue, pink, green, yellow, orange and what so ever. But ever since I started the blog I decided to try out more colors,and I could actually go out like that.

Quando comecei com o blog, o primeiro post era este este ( Pink & Gold ). E o rosa não 'e uma cor de que goste muito na minha maquilhagem, contudo não deixei de gostar do resultado.

When this blog started, my first post was this ( Pink & Gold ) make up. Pink its not a color that attracts me on make up, but I was happy with the results.

Para criar isto usei :
Corrector - Erase Paste ( Benefit )
Sombra dourada - Naked palete - Half-Baked
Sombra castanha - Naked palete - Hustle

Primeiro
Limpei a pele, dei um jeito as sobrancelhas e pus o corrector.

First
I cleaned my skin, prepared my brow and concealed my dark circles.

Segundo
Pus a sombra dourada em toda pálpebra movel.



Second
Put on gold eye shadow all over my eye lid.

Terceiro
Pus a sombra castanha nos cantos dos olhos.



Third
Put the brown shadow on my outer corner.

Quarto
Fiz um cat eyes por cima das sombras - aprender aqui .

I found it very simple, and its great because you can actually change the colors according to your outfit or whatever you feel like.

Cat eyes for dummies ;)

Uma maquilhagem que eu realmente adoro e acho sensual e ao mesmo tempo aceitável para o dia-a-dia 'e Cat Eyes. 'E um bocado de dor de cabeça para fazer, mas 'e super fácil  No inicio tinha algumas dificuldades, mas depois fui ganhando pratica e agora faço o num instantinho. E a uns tempos encontrei uma maneira mesmo simples de fazer, e gostaria eu de ter encontrando quando descobri as maravilhas do eye-liner.  

If there is a make-up style that I really love and think its sexy at the same time and acceptable for a normal day, its Cat Eyes. Its quite a headache to do it when you don't know how to, but with time or experience you realize how easy it is.  At the beggining I had a had time with it, mas then I got experience and now I do it in 2 minutes. Some time ago I found out a easy way to do it, and I wish I had knew it before, when I found out the eye-liner.


'E necessário fita-cola, eye liner e rimel. A base e o corrector 'e opcional. 

You'll need tape, eye-liner and mascara. The foundation and concealer part its optional.

1. Primeiro limpa-se a pele, e se quiser ponha corrector e base.

1. First clean and prepare your skin, and if you want to, conceal what you need and put your foundation.

2. De seguida, corte 2 pedaços de fita-cola e ponha nos cantos dos olhos em direcao as suas sobrancelhas.

 2. Cut the small pieces of tape, and stick them on the outter corner of yours eyes.

3. Faca a sua linha, pode ser grossa ou fina, como quiser. Pode cobrir o olho todo ou so 3/4.

3. Line your eye, it can be a thin or thick line. You choose. It can cover the whole eye or just 3/4.

4. Continue a sua linha traçando mesmo rente a fita-cola, de forma a fazer uma especie de trianguluzinho pequenininho de acordo com a grossura da sua linha. Deixe secar  um bocadinho e tire a fita-cola. Se for necessario, corrija alguns erros que possa ter e tambem a base
